Posted by on

Whether you’ve just graduated from college or you’re looking for a new career, creating a resume is a task that you can undertake without having to hire a professional resume writing service. We have a few ideas to help anyone get started.

Create The Resume - Most of us have a basic understanding of what a resume should look like and know our past history and qualifications. If you’re a highly trained engineer, you don’t want the same layout for your resume as someone who is looking for a summer job. There are not many different styles of resumes but there are differences that can help you to stand out. A search online for resume templates and styles should help you choose one that suits you best.

Write The Cover Letter - Creating a cover letter is an important part of a professional resume. This document provides the company you are seeking employment from with some specifics related to that position and the company. This letter is your opportunity to provide targeted and specific information as it relates to your compatibility and suitability for the opening.

Posting Your Resume Online – There are numerous websites that allow you to post your resume for employers to find and recruit. These also often have an online version of your cover letter along with key words and phrases to indicate the type of position you are seeking and are qualified for. Internet job boards are numerous and you may find the right job waiting for you there!

Print Your Resume – In addition to job boards, you’ll need to print your resume to mail to prospective employers or to mail. You’ll need a Laser or Inkjet printer with compatible ink cartridges. You will also need high quality resume paper for the best result. We also recommend that you keep extra printer ink cartridges on hand so you don’t run low during your job search.
