Brother International Annual Small Business Survey Results

Brother International Corp. and SCORE recently released their results from the fifth annual Brother Small Business Survey. 72% of small business owners noted that they feel new technology will offer a bigger return on investment than new employees in 2014. In spite of this general belief, small business owners struggle to keep up with new innovative technologies leaving them overwhelmed.

The results of the survey further showed that small business owners are split 50/50 regarding where the greatest risk lies – being an early adopter of new technology or giving competitors an advantage with the new tools and products.

Top technologies listed as necessary to run their business included: 

• Mobile devices, such as smartphones and tablets (41%)
• Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools (32%)
• Cloud based services (15%)
